Social Media Flow Chart: Blog vs. Facebook vs. Twitter
This flowchart is from my Social Media Strategy eBook. Getting your blog, Facebook and Twitter to work together is a challenge. I think deciding where an idea should go (and just as important, where it shouldn’t go) can be difficult. That’s why I put together this flow chart for deciding on whether your your idea should be blogged, Facebooked or Tweeted. You’ll notice the arrows going from the blog to Facebook to twitter; these mean that what gets posted on your blog can be posted on Facebook which in turn can also be tweeted. Doing the reverse is a bad idea (ever been annoyed by a ton of someone’s tweets in your Facebook news feed?). I’d love to hear your feedback if you have any…

I was searching for a social media flowchart to use in my upcoming presentation to small business owners and your post appeared. Good job – clearly shows what tool to use based on what knowledge you have to offer. Mind if I use it (with credit of course) as part of my handouts in upcoming weeks?

Please, by all means use it as much as you like. Thanks!

Zach, I’d also like to re-purpose this idea with credit if possible. I’m working on an article in which this would be a good way to support my point. I’d be recreating it with a different look, but crediting your idea. Would that work?

Yeah, go ahead, Thanks!

Zach, I am jumping on the bandwagon and would like to use your flowchart for a presentation and training as well. Are you ok with that?

Love this chart Zach! You are a whiz. Also would love to use for a presentation with credit to you of course.
Let me know if that’s cool.

Zach,
What I love about this chart is it really plays to the strengths of each of the three mediums. It’s also a great way to think about how to break apart content and put different elements up on each social network. Great job!

Very useful kickstart to aid a model I’m trying to create. Mine needs to incorporate an online shop (core competency), pinterest (possibly but not necessarily core competency, in a very shareable visual medium), tumblr (linear, linky, photo/textual, easier than blogging?) and rapid creation of interesting original photos with some post-processing. Thanks for the useful framework and the nudge I needed to get on with it. XoxoX
